Works by Kurt Van Raden
Kurt Van Raden worked as an co-apprenticed with Ziegler for 3 years under the direction of Dotti Boscamp. He is a master glass blower and the artist-in-residence at Fire Studio.
Van Raden is the owner of Baloo Glass. He creates signature keepsakes that encase cremains of a loved one in solid handblown pieces.
“Cremains” are the remnants of cremation. Van Raden places cremains within the molten glass materials to create handblown orbs. This specialized production and art form is truly unique and a worthy alternative to burial.
Van Raden always been fascinated by glass works, his grandmother collected art glass, and gave him an appreciation for the art form.
